As a starting point all visual art such as paintings, photographs etc. is protected by copyright law. This means you need consent from the copyright holder of the work in question. A framework agreement has been made between the university colleges and Copydan BilledKunst granting permission to use isolated digital and analogue (printed) visual art in the teaching at university colleges. You can read about the extent of the framework agreement for digital and printed (analogue) visual art here: Billedaftale med professionshøjskolerne (pdf) (in Danish only)
Visual art in a closed knowledge registration system
You are allowed to use visual art in internal knowledge registration systems for edu-cational use e.g. in UC Knowledge (UC Viden) – a portal for research and development activities in the university college sector. You just have to save your project in the UC Know-ledge files, which are accessible internally, if it contains visual art comprised by copyright law.
Special circumstances in the framework agreement
Visual art must be used by university college educators and students for teaching at university colleges or distance learning. Name of the artist must be clearly indicated in connection with reproduction of a work.
